Remember that record-breaking Hot Wheels jump? It nearly went very, very wrong…
Cast your mind back three weeks and to Tanner Foust's record-breaking leap into the abyss at the Indy 500.
Using a bespoke 850bhp truck, he sped down a purpose-built Hot Wheels-style ramp, leapt 332ft through the air and landed on all four wheels, sphincter intact and with a new Guinness World Record etched onto his breast.
But as any death-defying jumpist will concur, you don't just strap in, weld your foot to the floor and hope it doesn't rain - you need practice. And Mr Foust nearly squished himself during said practice.
On the attempt you are about to see below, Tanner shoots off the runway too fast, forcing the truck to pitch forwards in the air and nearly land on its face. You don't need a physics degree to know landing on your face isn't comfortable. And still, the Top Gear USA host wasn't deterred...
