Production Estoque saloon and a crossover are on the cards – but only one will be built. Which would you choose?
Porsche has already upset purists by producing saloon and SUV models, but both have helped bring in money better than any of the firm’s sports cars ever could. Now Lamborghini wants part of the action and reports are suggesting they’re set to make either a saloon or a crossover in the next few years.
The Italian marque is reportedly running two prototypes already – one crossover and one saloon with a decision to be made on which to make by the company’s 50th anniversary in 2013.
Lamborghini has already shown the Estoque saloon concept at the 2008 Paris Motor Show and any production model will likely take cues from the four-door show-car. Power will come from the 552bhp V10 used in the Gallardo, with power delivered to all four wheels.
The crossover model reportedly gets a sporty, coupe look much like the BMW X6. Unlike the BMW though, it will be two-door only and could ride on the same platform as the Porsche Cayenne.
Which car do you think should be built? Or should Lamborghini just stick to making exotic supercars?
