Good news! You may have read some bits and bobs in the press this week, but we can officially confirm the truth: Top Gear’s rip-roaring live experience has been completely rehauled for 2011, and the UK dates will take place in Birmingham NEC from 11-13 November, and ExCel London from 24-27 November.
Previous attendees of the show may think they know what to expect, but this year we’re really going to town. As it says here, “the on-screen excitement of the show is now spilling out of the live arena and onto the festival floor for the first time.”
Highlights confirmed so far include:
- An all-new Top Gear indoor track: designed by Lotus and featuring Stig doing power laps in some very special metal, along with some live Stars in a Reasonably Priced Car
- A recreation of the famous Top Gear studio, as well as appearances from some of our more creative machinery featured in the show over the years
- Supercar parades and head-to-head racing
-Top Gear’s three presenters – plus tame racing driver – in an all-new live action arena show with the Top Gear stunt team
More details will be forthcoming over the next few weeks/months as we actually build them. Frankly, some ideas push ambitious but rubbish to huge new lengths, so we hope they make it into reality.
