One-off Bentley Ute for auction at Australian Motor Show

Australian specialty insurer Shannons has gotten ahold of a very special Bentley which will be auctioned at the Australian International Motor Show.
Originally a 1956 Bentley S1 Saloon purschased new in London by the then-owner of the David Jones retail chain, Charles Lloyd-Jones, this blue-collar Bentley found its way to the Right Honourable 6th Earl of Stradbroke Keith Rous.
It was Rous who had the eccentric idea to convert it into a utility vehicle. The work was then was carried out by George Williams of Camperdown, NSW. The S1 was painted bright yellow in addition to a bespoke timber load bed inserted where the rear passengers normally sit.
In 2011, the Earl donated the Bentley Ute to Melbourne's Trinity Grammar School, requesting that it be "used by the School, or to be sold to donate funds to the School".
Fittingly, the Bentley is now being auctioned by Shannons at the Australian Motor Show on Sunday July 10 with all proceeds going to the building of a new library at the school.
Offered for sale with no reserve, the unique S1 is expected to sell between AUD $22,000-$32,000.
