New four-cylinder petrol also confirmed
BMW has officially unveiled the X1 sDrive20d EfficientDynamics Edition.
Designed to appeal to eco-minded motorists, the model has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo diesel engine with 163 PS (120 kW / 161 hp) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. It is also equipped with an engine start/stop system, electric power steering, brake energy regeneration and low-rolling resistance tires mounted on aerodynamic light-alloy wheels. Thanks to all these tweaks, the ED Edition has an average fuel consumption of 4.5 L/100 km and CO2 emissions of 119 g/km.
In related news, BMW also announced a new 2.0-liter four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo petrol engine with 184 PS (135 kW / 181 hp) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque. It will enable the X1 to average 7.1 to 7.7 L/100 km and have CO2 emissions of 165 to 179 g/km.
Pricing information hasn't been released, but both models will be available this fall.
