Roof is designed for maximize reliability
Chevrolet has released a new video that shows how the company tested the soft top on the Camaro Convertible.
While the tests are pretty standard, it's reassuring to know engineers opened and closed the roof more than 22,500 times in temperatures ranging from -22° F to 170° F. Furthermore, every model that rolls off the assembly line is subjected to a water test to ensure the roof doesn't leak.
According to Al Oppenheiser, the Camaro's chief engineer, "For many buyers, a Camaro Convertible can be a collector car, something they might keep for generations. So we made sure the tops would retain their quality for a long, long time."
