Will battle the BMW X6
New details are starting to emerge about Mercedes' upcoming competitor to the BMW X6.
According to Autocar, the model will be launched in 2014 as the GLS. It will reportedly be based on the 2012 M-Class and feature CLS-inspired styling and a four-seat interior.
Additional information is limited, but engine options are expected to include a 258 PS (190 kW / 254 hp) 3.0-liter V6 diesel, a 306 PS (225 kW / 302 hp) 3.5-liter V6 petrol and a 435 PS (429 hp / 320 kW) 4.6-liter V8 petrol. We can also expect a hybrid and a GLS 63 AMG with a twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 that produces 525 PS (386 kW / 518 hp) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque.
